One fee to find out what is wrong

$129 flat for the diagnostic visit, credited toward the repair. Everything after that is on a written estimate you approve before it happens.

Bottles racked on wooden runners behind glass, with the technician working out of shot at the base of the column.
What the visit costs is a flat figure, and it is the same figure whatever the cabinet is worth.

Diagnostic visit

$129

Flat diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair when you go ahead with it.

  1. You describe the symptom

On the phone, in your own words. We are listening for the things that narrow it down before we arrive — when it started, what the ice looks like, whether there was a storm that week.

  2. We diagnose on site

$129 flat, whatever the fault turns out to be. Not an hourly rate, not a call-out fee with a separate labour charge stacked on top of it.

  3. You get a written figure

Written estimate before any work starts. No parts ordered until you approve the figure.

  4. The diagnostic comes off the bill

Go ahead with the repair and the $129 is credited against it. Decline, and you have paid for a diagnosis you can take to anyone.

Why a flat fee rather than an hourly rate

An hourly rate pays a technician to be slow. A free call-out pays for itself somewhere else on the invoice, usually inside a part price you cannot check. A flat diagnostic is the only version of this that puts our incentive and yours in the same place: find the fault, find it quickly, and be right.

It also means we can tell you the fault is not worth repairing without having to justify the visit afterwards. That happens. A cabinet with a failed sealed system and twenty years on it is sometimes a replacement conversation, and the diagnostic fee is what buys you an honest one.

What we do not add on

  • No emergency rate, because we do not advertise emergency cover we could not staff honestly.
  • No evening or weekend surcharge. Saturday costs what Tuesday costs.
  • No mileage charge inside the normal working radius.
  • No charge for a second visit to fit a part we diagnosed on the first one.
  • No diagnostic fee on a return visit for the same fault inside the labour warranty.

What is not included

Parts, and the labour to fit them, are quoted separately on the written estimate. We fit genuine oem parts, which are not the cheapest option available and are the reason the parts warranty runs to 365 days. If an aftermarket part would genuinely serve you better we will say so, but for sealed-system and control work it does not.

Work outside Sub-Zero built-in refrigeration is not quoted at all, because we do not do it. Cabinetry alterations, electrical work behind the wall and plumbing beyond the appliance shut-off belong to the relevant trade.

Hours, and what that means for scheduling

  • Monday – Friday 08:00 – 18:00
  • Saturday 09:00 – 16:00
