Drift there is not usually a fault; it is a unit working at the edge of its design envelope with a condenser that has never been cleaned and a ventilation clearance the joinery quietly took away. **Younger units, so fewer wear failures.** Gaskets that have taken a permanent set and hinges worn by decades of use are less common here than on the older Orange Park streets. When we do find a door problem in Oakleaf it is more often alignment, because a heavy cabinet-shop panel is hanging on hardware that was set up before the panel existed. That is adjustment work, not a new seal, and it costs accordingly. ## Supply quality is the local variable The other thing that fails here is control electronics. Every part of Northeast Florida takes its thunderstorm days — roughly 68 a year — and the damage is done by the surge and voltage instability when supply is restored rather than by the strike itself. A board fitted on top of a marginal supply develops the same symptoms and the household pays twice. ## What a repair here usually involves Because the units are younger, the parts conversation is usually shorter. Common wear items ride on the van. Controls and sealed-system components are ordered against the serial number on the plate inside the cabinet, since components are revised within a model designation and two units that look identical in a kitchen can take different parts. Because the kitchens are newer, the access conversation is usually longer.
